The Whiteboard when first opened, provides a high-level overview of how all jobs are running at a single glance. It shows all the primary details in the grid with many aspects colour coded to highlight without filtering. Traffic lights on Baseline-on-Time and Contract-on-Time columns immediately identify performance of an individual job.
The Last & Next Milestone and Job Status also gives you a quick glance interpretation of where jobs on an individual basis are up to.
Stoppages are displayed as total days and then are further broken down into individual events. Sorting by column header or applying filters allows the user to gain a snapshot analysis of all or selected jobs and with an understanding of their individual timeline performance, status in time and stage.
Viewing the Whiteboard by the milestones tabs allows the user to group jobs as to their workflow status and still identify the pertinent aspects of the job including Baseline-on-Time & Contract-on-Time, Stoppages and workflow status. Displaying it in a heatmap view provides the information in a colour coded manner. Individual job activities that are between milestones can also be used to filter the view further for quick analysis of all jobs that have that activity not completed. This can be especially beneficial if a company wide activity is identified as not to be able to be performed, for example a service provider failure instance, and all jobs that will be affected, be it current or forecasted, can be grouped and appropriate remedial action in the order in which the impact occurs, can be taken.
Users can go straight to a job from the Whiteboard in job or heat map view. All viewable grids can be exported to Excel for further reporting or “what if” analysis.
Generating reports and charts from the job activities view further allows analysis of individual jobs against baseline, critical path and milestones. Selecting the Gantt Chart tab provides a visual of all workflow activities and milestones and presents them at current point or can be overlaid over the critical path or the initial baseline for progress comparison.
The Critical Path chart identifies the milestones and the activities that form the critical path from either a time or sequence calculation perspective. Working days for the job and the days worked and to be worked are summarised for easy visibility and calculated according to the pre-set working days in the week for a job and excludes public holidays. All activities are colour coded reflecting their status. The critical path timeline can be amended directly from the chart which will then automatically be reflected in job activity list for the forecasted start and completion for that activity. The inclusion of stoppages, if they impact on an activity determining the critical path, will automatically reforecast the period and dates of the job’s completion.
Further chart reporting is standard for Milestones, Stoppages and Workflow Status Breakdown. These standard views allow you to have a simple, graphical interpretation of the status of each of these representations of the job.
