Whilst OnSite Companion and our other products are the most configurable and scalable solutions in the industry straight out of the box; there are often urgent gaps that appear in this fast paced market. The complexity and pressure evident in the construction space often leaves little room for error.

We have three development options available and this allows us to provide an exact fit for all circumstances. The choices are outlined as follows.

Standard Request

These are email, phone in, support or user group requests, which can be put into our feature request system, at any time. Once the request is logged we track the interest in the features via crowdsourcing or our User Groups, and then plan and schedule these features into our development road map. Standard requests don’t cost you thing, although we prioritise these features based on the feedback from the above tracking, our available development timeslots, and the perceived value added by the feature.

There is no guarantee when the request could be worked on, if at all.

This is the best option for features that are not urgent and are nice-to-have.

Accelerated Development

This is when time is of the essence and the solution is of high value to the business. In order to qualify the feature must add broad client value to the product.

These features are often built into the product and as a result Companion Systems will keep the rights to the developed solution, and this is reflected in the cost (offered for at least 50% off the cost of development). Our client is empowered to be part of the design process directly and granted the ability to influence the developed feature to ensure it meets their requirements, there are also no maintenance or other ongoing costs.

Most importantly our team will begin the development of the solution at the earliest development slot we have and deliver the solution upon upgrading to our next version release.

If our next version release is a bit too far away, we can always discuss adjusting our pre-planned development timeline to accelerate a feature even sooner, or if you would prefer to receive the feature without upgrading, there is the option for developing and releasing a point release which allows for the adoption of a new feature without the need to upgrade the entire business.

This is the best option for urgent features that add value to our products, it is the most popular option.

Custom Development

When unique solutions are required, such as custom integrations and/or plug in solutions, Companion Systems is happy to scope and develop to meet needs.

A scoping exercise will be conducted with a formal scope of works to be signed off prior to commencement of any development work. The signed off Scope of Works will provide certainty on what the feature requirements are, along with any costs involved. During the development process there will be opportunities to review progress and adjust course to ensure the highest value solution is delivered.

We are also happy to partner with middleware development providers.
